Date Released: April 8, 2017

The Morehouse College Board of Trustees wrapped up their April meeting Saturday with a united focus in charting a bright and robust future for the College.

The election of five new board officers, and the beginning of the effort to rewrite board bylaws providing greater inclusion to faculty and student voices in the governance process, are vital parts of forging a brighter future for Morehouse, said Board Chairman Willie Woods '85 and Interim President William Taggart.

Joining Woods as new board officers are vice-chairman John Thornton, treasurer Richard Thaler, secretary Harold Martin ’02 and assistant secretary Dr. Dorothy Yancy.

Following the Board meeting, Taggart and Woods joined presidential search committee co-chair Dale Jones ’82, Morehouse Student Government Association president Jonathan Hill '17, faculty trustee member Ron Thomas, and Morehouse National Alumni Association president Dr. Howard Willis '76 in talking to renowned Atlanta business journalist Maria Saporta about the united spirit at Morehouse.
