Nationally Ranked Maroon Tigers Go to 13-0 After Defeating Lane 85-53 Saturday TDate Released: January 8, 2018
The Morehouse College Maroon Tigers basketball team continued their winning ways this weekend as they defeated Lane College 85-53 Saturday at Franklin Forbes Arena.
Ranked 25th in the nation, the Maroon Tigers are now 13-0 this season, and 8-0 in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. They are tied for second in the SIAC East Division with Clark Atlanta University who also has an 8-0 record.
Martravious Little led Morehouse with 21 points in a game where the Maroon Tigers never trailed and led by as many 43 points.
Omar Alston has ten points, 12 rebounds, four assists and two steals, while Duby Maduegbunam also had ten points, along with six rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot. James Walker added nine points, ten rebounds, four assists and two steals. Leading scorer Tyrius Walker had nine points, five rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Next up for Morehouse is a visit to Fort Valley State University Saturday, Jan. 13 at 3 p.m., followed by a Jan. 15 game at Albany State University at 3 p.m. The Maroon Tigers next home game is a huge contest against first place, and nationally ranked, Claflin University on Jan. 20 at 3 p.m.
