“I came to an HBCU and Morehouse because I believed in the purpose of Morehouse College. I knew of other schools, and that they develop entrepreneurs, they develop doctors. But at Morehouse, they develop leaders. So I thought of myself coming to this historically black institution with lots of great, historic alumni and doing what I can to continue that legacy and bringing that back to my community.
“I knew an HBCU would be a great incubator for my ideas. I’ve always seen myself as someone who is connected to my own community and I saw myself coming to Morehouse, an institution that has catered to the black community. That’s what I sought to do – take that knowledge and experience and historic legacy back home where I can aid my African Canadian community in Toronto.”
