Mr. Jamal Simmons
Jamal Simmons has spent two decades providing strategic and communications advice to political, corporate and non-profit leaders. He helped Bill Clinton and Barack Obama get elected president and is one of the Democratic strategists the Obama White House brings into the West Wing when pushing out its message.
Early in his career, Jamal served as a Representative for the U.S. Commerce Department and the Office of the U.S. Trade. Since then he has advised political candidates at the federal, state and local level and produced media events on five continents for the Clinton White House, major corporations and international non-profits. Recent clients include the Internet Innovation Alliance, the Rockefeller
Foundation and AARP.
As a regular presence on CNN and MSNBC, Jamal’s political commentary has also been featured on CBS News and in The New York Times, USA Today, GQ and Politico.
Devoted to nurturing the next generation of young Americans, Jamal has been a longtime mentor to young political operatives and is an honorary board member of the Rosa Parks Scholarship Foundation.
Born in Detroit, Michigan he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Morehouse College and a Master in Public Policy degree from Harvard University. He resides in Washington, DC where he is a Principal at the Raben Group.
