Ms. Adrienne S. Harris
Adrienne S. Harris is a leadership communications consultant for Cygnus Communications, a leadership communications consulting firm she founded in 2008.
A persuasive communicator and results-oriented facilitator and coach, Adrienne brings 25 years of executive communications, public relations and journalism experience to her work partnering with leaders to craft and communicate leadership stories that connect them with others to create more good in the world.
Adept at story creation, strategy development and leadership communications support, Adrienne’s expertise includes facilitating team/organizational visioning, strategy, messaging and engagement sessions, coaching leaders to develop and embody their authentic leadership voice and communications style, and writing leadership speeches and other executive communiqués.
Prior to Cygnus, Adrienne was chief of staff for CARE USA, one of the nation’s leading international development and relief organizations, and chief of staff and head of executive communications for Morehouse College, the nation’s premier institution of higher education for African American men. During her tenure at Morehouse, Adrienne also led the college’s publications and media relations efforts.
Adrienne has been a regular contributor to the Atlanta Business Chronicle and Black Enterprise magazine, and was the first, full-time managing editor for The Atlanta Tribune. As a freelance writer, she wrote and edited newsletters, annual reports, marketing materials, and marketing research reports for nonprofit, higher education, and business clients.
Adrienne holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Emory University and a master’s degree in communication from Georgia State University.
