Andrew Young Center for Global Leadership
African Presidential Archives & Research Center
The Leadership Center was part of a consortium of colleges and universities around the globe sponsored by the African Presidential Archives and Research Center at Boston University (APARC), an internationally recognized center for research and dialogue on contemporary political and economic trends in Africa. Annually, APARC sponsored the African Presidential Roundtable which was held in various venues around the world, including Johannesburg, Dar es Salaam, Berlin and London. Students had the opportunity to interact directly with world leaders and gain an inside view of the African political arena.
In August 2010, five students and two faculty members travelled to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to participate in the African Presidential Roundtable 2010. The event was a multi-continental conversation, involving students, faculty and leaders from the public and private sectors in the United States, Europe and Africa with 14 former African leaders that had retired through a democratic process participated. The focus was Leadership Solutions to Land Reform in Africa.
