Academic Standards
First Year
- Superior performance in the student's first year is defined as earning a grade point average of 3.25 or higher AND completion of 32 or more credits of academic work.
- High performance in the student's first year is defined as earning a grade point average of 2.5-3.249 or higher AND completion of 30 or more credits of academic work.
- Moderate performance in the student's first year is defined as earning either a 2.5-3.249 or higher grade point average or 30 credits.
- Acceptable performance in the student's first year is defined as earning a grade point average of 2.0-2.499 AND completion of 27 or more credits of academic work.
- Unacceptable performance in the student's first year is defined as earning a grade point average below 2.0 or higher OR completion of fewer than 27 credits of academic work. Refer for I.C.A.R.E. intervention.
Second Year
- Superior performance in the student's second year is defined as earning a grade point average of 3.25 or higher AND completion of 60 or more credits of academic work.
- High performance in the student's second year is defined as earning a grade point average of 2.5-3.249 or higher AND completion of 60 or more credits of academic work.
- Moderate performance in the student's second year is defined as earning either a 2.5-3.249 or higher grade point average or 60 credits.
- Acceptable performance in the student's second year is defined as earning a grade point average of 2.0-2.499 AND completion of 60 or more credits of academic work.
- Unacceptable performance in the student's second year is defined as earning a grade point average below 2.0 or higher OR completion of fewer than 60 credits of academic work. Refer for I.C.A.R.E. intervention.
Third Year
- Superior performance in the student's third year is defined as earning a grade point average of 3.25 or higher AND completion of 90 or more credits of academic work.
- High performance in the student's third year is defined as earning a grade point average of 2.5-3.249 or higher AND completion of 90 or more credits of academic work.
- Moderate performance in the student's second year is defined as earning either a 2.5-3.249 or higher grade point average or 90 credits.
- Acceptable performance in the student's third year is defined as earning a grade point average of 2.0-2.499 AND completion of 90 or more credits of academic work.
- Unacceptable performance in the student's third year is defined as earning a grade point average below 2.0 or higher OR completion of fewer than 90 credits of academic work. Refer for I.C.A.R.E. intervention.
Fourth Year
- Superior performance in the student's fourth year is defined as earning a grade point average of 3.25 or higher AND completion of 120 or more credits of academic work (Cum Laude and above honors conferred at graduation).
- High performance in the student's fourth year is defined as earning a grade point average of 2.5-3.249 or higher AND completion of 120 or more credits of academic work.
- Moderate performance in the student's fourth year is defined as earning either a 2.5-3.249 or higher grade point average or 120 credits.
- Acceptable performance in the student's fourth year is defined as earning a grade point average of 2.0-2.499 AND completion of 120 or more credits of academic work.
- Unacceptable performance in the student's fourth year is defined as earning a grade point average below 2.0 or higher OR completion of fewer than 120 credits of academic work (Will not graduate in 4 years).
Latin Honors (Current)
Cum laude: The graduate’s grade-point average is 3.00-3.50
Magna cum laude: The graduate’s grade-point average is 3.51-3.80
Summa cum laude The graduate’s grade-point average is 3.81-4.00
Latin Honors (Beginning with the Class of 2018)
Cum laude: The graduate’s grade-point average is greater than or equal to 3.25 but less than 3.5 (3.25 ≤ gpa < 3.5)
Magna cum laude: The graduate’s grade-point average is greater than or equal to 3.5 but less than 3.8 (3.5 ≤ gpa < 3.8)
Summa cum laude: The graduate’s grade-point average is greater than or equal to 3.8 (gpa ≥ 3.8)
