Department of Modern Foreign Languages

Curriculum

The Department of Modern Foreign Languages requirements stipulate six hours (two semesters) of a foreign language at the intermediate level. The courses, which comprise the intermediate level, are: 201 and 202 (or 251 and 252 for the Honors Program). This entire sequence must be completed in the same language.

The Department of Modern Foreign Languages curriculum involves a major / minor concentration in a language consisting of 30 hours (ten courses) at the advanced level (300 or above). These courses are designed to reinforce the reading and writing skills as well as the oral proficiency in the selected language.
