W. Monty Whitney, Ph.D.

Monty Whitney has been the Director, Bonner Office of Community Service at Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA since August, 2008.  Previously he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Morehouse College.  His courses are noted for their community service learning requirements and serve as a model for other courses at the College. He earned his Ph.D. degree from Michigan State University. His area of training and expertise is in Ecological Psychology, which is the study of the impact of culture and environment on individuals, groups and organizations.  He has co-authored several books on African-American Issues in Mental Health. He is the former Executive Director for Human Relations for the City of Cincinnati and the former National President of the Association of Black Psychologist.

Gwen Cain

Ms. Gwen Cain received her B.A. from Fisk University and her M.A. from Boston College.  She has been with Morehouse College since 1999, when she was hired as a Grant Writer/Technical Information Specialist.  Prior to Ms. Cain’s employment at Morehouse, she served as a consultant to the Office of Sponsored Programs.  She has been involved in various aspects of community work for most of her career, and has managed several community-based programs.

Tony Wyatt Rocker

Tony Wyatt Rocker, Assistant Program Manager, was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Fulton High school and later attended Fort Valley State College on an athletic scholarship where he received an under graduate degree in Criminal Justice.

Most of his professional career has been dedicated to the field of social service, as he feels it has given him the opportunity to see the world from many different perspectives, and therefore, has enabled him to find his God-given purpose in life, which is service.
Mr. Rocker’s prior work experiences include organizing and sponsoring the first annual athletic summer camp for high-risk youths, the implementation of adolescent awareness programs on drug and alcohol abuse for Southside Healthcare. His expertise include managing recreational programs for high risk youths in conjunction with the juvenile court system under the Department of Family and Children Services and most recently a computer programmer for Sprint Telecom.

Allen C. Clarke

Mr. Clarke has an extensive background in education and youth development.  He is a former NYC public school teacher. He taught both elementary and high school, including teaching adjudicated young men at NYC’s Rikers Island Educational Facility.  He is a graduate of the Fund for the City of New York’s Youth Development Institute and has participated in several literacy programs through the Partnership for After School Education and a portfolio development and assessment program through the Literacy Assistance Center in NYC.  Mr. Clarke has been a Literacy Coordinator, an Afterschool Coordinator, a Summer Camp Director, and the Director of the Sidewalks Arts Program at the Queens Community House (formerly the Forest Hills Community House) in Forest Hills, NY.  He has facilitated leadership, hip hop and writing workshops at community-based organizations, in detention centers and through the Gwinnett County Juvenile Court.  He has worked as a case manager with Gwinnett County Department of Family and Children’s Services and is currently the part-time Director of Outreach for the Summer Bridge Breakthrough Alumni Network (SBAN), a leadership development, mentoring and support program with its hub in Atlanta, GA.  Mr. Clarke holds a BA in African American Studies, has 12 graduate credits in Special Education and a Master’s degree in Business Administration.      

Jaquenetta (Jackie) Dugger

Jackie Dugger is originally from New York where she is a graduate of Brooklyn, New York’s St. Francis College. She has a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Communication and a minor in Psychology. Ms. Dugger has over 12 years experience in office administration on an executive level and has extensive experience in event planning. Prior to joining the Morehouse Bonner Office of Community Service, she was the executive assistant at the Giving Tree, an adoption agency and the executive assistant to the Chief Operating Officer of the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta, where she received a service award from that organization. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and volunteering at her church.

Hyacinth (Femi) Jenkins

Mrs. Jenkins became a part of the Bonner Office of Community Service staff in April of 2000. She has lived and worked as a long-time member of the Atlanta community through her many years of service and active involvement in her church. Ms. Jenkins is a graduate of Watterson College of Business in Louisville, Kentucky, her hometown. She brings to Morehouse administrative experience that includes working at one of OCS’s long-standing community partners, John Harland Boys & Girls Club.

Jessi Lollar

Jessi Lollar was born and raised in Ft. Worth, Texas and is going on six years of being an Atlanta resident. She received her B.A. in English, which included a concentration in southern and African-American literature, from Emory University. A former junior high English teacher, Ms. Lollar’s passion to involve students in service that promotes enjoyment of reading led her to the Office of Community Service. She works specifically with Jumpstart, an early childhood education program that is working toward the day that every child in America enters school prepared to succeed.  Outside of the office, she serves as a youth mentor through SafeHouse Outreach and enjoys reading the literature she didn’t get the chance to in college, spending time in coffee shops, and walking through many of Atlanta's lush parks.

Kendrick Long

Kendrick Long serves as Part-time Program Assistant for the Morehouse College Community Revitalization Initiative. He currently manages student interns and the neighborhood organizations in the Neighborhood Planning Unit T in the City of Atlanta. In addition Mr. Long assists the program manager and supervises the AmeriCorps VISTA program. Mr. Long works with the United State Department of Commerce in the Partnership and Data Services Division.  Mr. Long has volunteered with the Westview Community Organization, West End Coalition, developed gardening projects in the Ashview Heights Community Organization and lead computer literacy training efforts in John O Chiles Senior High-rise. Prior to joining MCCRI, Mr. Long served two years in the federal AmeriCorps program through Hands on Atlanta. He held the position of Middle School Team Leader in NPU-T and other inner city communities, designing and managing community projects, giving workshops and working for the empowerment of families. Mr. Long served as the chief office manager and interim director for the Absalom Jones Student Center and Chapel in the Atlanta University Center, where he managed 12 chapel assistants and designed campus programs. Mr. Long is a business owner and mentors youth throughout the city.
