Malik Powell graduated from the class of 2007 and hasn’t been going anywhere but forward since his departure from Morehouse. He is currently in Washington, D.C. working for the Department of Defense as an auditor, putting his Bachelor of Arts Degree, Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, to great use.
He says the perks about being an employee of the government is the job security, great health benefits and of course, the travel. “I get to travel all over the world, who would not love that,” Powell states.
During his time at Morehouse, he served as a member of the Morehouse Orchestra where he played the cello. He was also apart of the Tri-state Club as a New York native, Toast Masters and the Investment Club, just to name a few.
His reflection on his alma mater today: “Morehouse taught me a lot without teaching me a lot,” Powell states. He is a firm believer in the notion that “true insanity is doing the same thing twice and expecting the same results.”
