Starlight Six Drive-Inn: A Must-Go!

The recent gasoline shortages may scare you away from anything related to driving, but this veil-slice of retro is actually a very economical recreation venture. Located a few miles down the road from the hipster-friendly Little Five Points district (I-20 to Blvd, right off exit), Starlight is a relaxing alternative to the bustling Atlantic Station Regal Cinema mainstay for a good movie.

General admission is seven dollars per person affording you a double feature: two movies for the price of one! Let me repeat, TWO movies for less than one at any other cinema in town. You can watch the two movies on your screen of choice; similar films are paired, providing a cohesive movie experience.
The movie’s audio is played through a designated station on your car radio therfore, the quality is as good as your stereo-- dont't expect Dolby Digital-esque thunderous excellence. Gates typically open an hour or two before show time for those who want to kick back in a lawn chair and have a bite. You can even bust out the BBQ grill and toss a football around.

This classic, unconventional landmark is a hidden gem amongst Atlanta’s more flashy spots. Starlight Six Drive-Inn puts a unique spin on the typical movie-date atmosphere. You don’t go broke at the box office, you don’t have to sneak food in and you can talk all you want. You can do just about anything except bring your pitbull or shoot fireworks.

Open rain or shine, seven days a week for 59 years, Starlight Six Drive-Inn is a living piece of history that everyone should check out. Did I mention you get two movies for the price of one?
