Program Length
The institution offers one or more degree programs based on at least 60 semester credit hours or the equivalent at the associate level; at least 120 semester credit hours or the equivalent at the baccalaureate level; or at least 30 semester credit hours or the equivalent at the post-baccalaureate, graduate, or professional level. If an institution uses a unit other than semester credit hours, it provides an explanation for the equivalency. The institution also provides a justification for all degrees that include fewer than the required number of semester credit hours or its equivalent unit.

Narrative

Morehouse College has a clearly articulated set of criteria for the awarding of the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees. Morehouse College offers Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees in 26 disciplinary or interdisciplinary areas within three basic divisions: Business and Economics, Humanities and Social Science, and Science and Mathematics. Programs of study for the majors require from 24 to 60 semester hours, with no grade below “C” in courses designated for the major. The overall minimum number of credit hours for the awarding of the Baccalaureate degree is 120 semester hours.

Contained in the College’s course catalog is a detailed narrative of each program of study. These narratives outline the mission and course requirements and suggest a four-year program of study for the discipline.
