Narrative

The first paragraph of Section 6.1 of the College’s bylaws establishes that the president of Morehouse College is the institution’s chief executive officer. The same section also indicates that the “president … shall exercise general superintendence over all affairs of the institution, which include, without limitation, authority over the administration of all aspects of the athletic program, including approval of the budget and audit of athletics’ expenditures.”  (See Board Minutes.).

Additional evidence of the president’s ultimate responsibility for administrative and financial control of intercollegiate athletics at Morehouse is provided by the College’s organizational chart, which shows the athletic program on a direct reporting line through the vice president for Student Services to the president.
