Project Identity’s Summer Program for Youth offers an exciting opportunity for middle school male students to enjoy accelerated learning, sports and activities on the historic campus of Morehouse College. During the 3-week day program, Summer Program for Youth offers expert instruction in the arts, sciences, math and additional topics specially selected for the interests of middle school male students. By bringing together students with similar abilities and diverse backgrounds, the program creates an environment of growth but also challenging, but most of all, fun.
Students participate in one course per session plus choose from a variety of co-curricular workshops. All students who successfully complete their course will receive a certificate of completion.

Supervision
Program participants are supervised throughout the program by a team of carefully selected and trained Project Identity Summer Mentors who are current Morehouse College Students. Mentors chaperone students in class, and to and from classes, meals and will receive the personal attention they need. Project Identity staff members are also on-site each day for the entire program.
Meals
Participants eat together each day for lunch in Chivers dining halls, under the supervision of PI Summer Mentors. Students are allowed to bring afternoon snacks in appropriate containers or are welcomed to purchase snacks at campus bookstore of standing vending machines.

Classes meet every morning for 3 hours. Summer mentors escort students to and from class. |

Student Pick up
Parents should plan to drop off their student on campus at 8:45am and pick them up at 4:30pm. The drop off and pick up location will be disclosed when participants are accepted. Students on campus after 4:30pm will be assessed a Extended Day fee. |
Field Trip
There is a field trip scheduled for the last Friday of the program. PI staff and Summer Mentors chaperone field trip.

PROJECT IDENTITY Summer Institute gives rising freshman through junior African American and other minority male high school students an exciting glimpse into academic college life.
Open to in-state and out-of-state students, this 3-week residential program replicates the college experience with an intense curriculum and enrichment activities to assist in developing their academic, social and leadership skills. Located on the campus of one of the nations largest, private liberal arts college for men, Morehouse College, Project Identity Summer Institute believes that students succeed when given the tools they need in order to pursue higher education.
PROJECT IDENTITY Summer participants experience being independent by living on campus and learning in a structured and supervised environment.
Summer Institute students live together in a residential housing and participate in an intense curriculum. Participants are taught by faculty and are also involved in enrichment activities including preceptorials on various subjects relating to college life and everyday life experiences, community service activities, and field trips.
Program Requirements:
- Must be a male rising freshman through junior in high school
- Applicants must have an A or B grade point average with some accelerated level coursework
- Taken the PSAT/SAT, or ACT
- Two letters of recommendations from school counselors or school personnel
- Official school transcript
Applications and materials must be received by the deadline listed. Applications will not be considered for admittance unless returned completed with all required materials by deadline. Incomplete applications will not be considered for acceptance.
