New Vice President of Student Development To Begin at Morehouse in August

Dr. Timothy Sams has been selected for the newly created position of Vice President for Student Development at Morehouse College.
Sams comes to Morehouse from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he served as Vice President for Student Life.
In the position of Vice President for Student Development at Morehouse, Dr. Sams will be responsible for the areas of Student Services, Enrollment Management and the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel. The merging of these three areas into one division, will give the College a platform to provide students with a seamless and stellar experience from recruitment to graduation.
Sams brings to Morehouse more than 20 years of progressive leadership in higher education as well as an innovative and transformational approach to student development that will leverage the work at which Morehouse already excels, while infusing new and creative ideas. He will work closely with Provost Garikai Campbell and the Academic Affairs staff to align the student development experience with the academic experience to ensure a consistent, targeted and comprehensive development plan for creating the 21st Century Morehouse Man.
