Join the Morehouse College Martin Luther King Jr. Collection for a special “teach-in” and document viewing to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington. The “teach-in” will take place at the Robert W. Woodruff LIbrary on August 28, 2013 at 2 p.m.
The teach-in will serve as an educational forum for students and the community to learn more about the events of 1963, a watershed year in the history of the Civil Rights Movement. A multimedia presentation by Dr. Larry Spruill, associate professor of History, will provide a glimpse of the history, music, and photographic images that distinguish this year. View primary documents from the Morehouse College Martin Luther King Jr. Collection from the March on Washington and hear reflections from civil rights movement veterans and Morehouse alumnus Charles Black and others who participated in the 1963 March. And engage in Inter-generational dialogue around events of the civil rights era and current issues and debates.
