UNCF Awards $10,000 Grant to Morehouse to Address Faculty Needs
STAFF REPORTS
Faculty needs in professional development, technology access, curriculum development and approaches to teaching and learning will get a boost from a $10,000 planning grant Morehouse has received from the United Negro College Fund.
The College is one of 15 UNCF’s 39 member institutions receiving the planning grants that are awarded through the UNCF’s Institute for Capacity Building Curriculum and Faculty Enhancement Program. Funded by the Ford Foundation, the CFEP program allows the schools to use the money to complete planning grant activities and then be eligible for six action grants totaling $111,000 per school over two years.
“In order to remain competitive, colleges need to be able to attract and retain top teachers and scholars,” said UNCF president and CEO, Michael Lomax ’68. “These grants will help our member colleges and universities to do just that.”
