On January 18, 2002, Dr. Fluker was interviewed by the Public Broadcasting Station (PBS) division of Religion and Ethics News Weekly for a segment on Dr. Thurman and his relationship with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The program was aired nationally on the weekend of January 19-20, 2002.

Dr. Fluker served as faculty at the Salzburg Seminar in Austria where he utilized the work of Howard Thurman as critical resource in a seminar with emerging international leaders discussing spirituality, ethic, leadership and education. The seminar was entitled Looking Within: Education and Leadership.


Walter Earl Fluker is editing a three-volume series, entitled Essays on Ethical Leadership From the Black Church Tradition. Volume One, The Stones That The Builders Rejected was published in 1998 by Trinity Press. Volume Two, Bread Upon the Waters is in process.
