Morehouse College and all other Atlanta University Center institutions will open at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, due to dangerous road conditions and frigid temperatures expected overnight.

Morehouse College Welcomes Students, Parents, Alumni To Homecoming Week

Morehouse College’s Homecoming Week — viewed as one of the biggest and best among historically black colleges and universities each year — starts Sunday, Oct. 21 with a line-up of activities that are expected to attract more than 20,000 people to campus. 

Thousands of students, parents, alumni, and supporters will descend upon Morehouse College to attend concerts and charity events, spot celebrities, bond with old friends, and cheer on the Maroon Tigers as they face Fort Valley State University at the Homecoming Football Game at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27.

Several daytime activities are free and open to the public. Evening show tickets are also available. Single ticket prices range from $10 to $20 for students and from $15 to $45 for general admission. Ticket packages are also available.

The entertainment scheduled for the week includes:

  • The Evolution Fashion Show, 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $10 for college students with identification $10 and $15 for general admission.

  • Block Party Hip Hop Concert featuring YG, Playboi Carti, Young Nudy & Guests, 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, Forbes Arena. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost $35 for college students with Atlanta University Center identification; $40 for other students with college identification; and $45 for general admission.

  • Showtime at King Comedy Show featuring Clayton English, Clark Jones ’05, Ronnie Jordan, 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $15 for college students with identification and $20 for general admission.

  • School Daze Step Show,7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, Forbes Arena. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost $20 for college students with identification and $30 for general admission.
