Faculty Development Teaching and Advising Center

"Building a Faculty of Distinction to Prepare Males for Enlightened Leadership in the 21st Century Global Community"

The purpose of the Faculty Development, Teaching and Advising Center Center (FDTAC) is to promote student success and faculty excellence through engaged instruction, advising and research.  In support of the mission of the College "to develop men with disciplined minds who will lead lives of leadership and service" the Center seeks to facilitate the continued professional development of Morehouse faculty as teachers, mentors and scholars who motivate students to participate actively in their own education and guide them on their way to becoming critical thinkers, life-long learners and 21st century servant-leaders.

The FDTAC will introduce new faculty to the culture of excellence in teaching, acdemic advising and scholarship at Morehouse College, provide guided resources to assist faculty in preparation for promotion and tenure, and support the continued development of senior faculty. The center will make available to the global higher education community the College's expertise in the area of effective pedagogy, learning outcomes, and student assessment, with special emphasis on the teaching, advising and matriculation of African-American males.
