Staff Profiles

Joy White Joy White brings over 12 years of experience to her new post as Interim General Counsel, where she manages the operations of the Office of General Counsel and Compliance. Ms. White also serves as the Chief Compliance Officer with responsibility for ensuring the development and reinforcement of a compliance culture at the College, including primary responsibility for overseeing Title IX, institutional research compliance issues, and all compliance matters affecting Morehouse College. 

Ms. White is a highly-skilled civil litigator and businesswoman with a proven track record of providing meaningful and strategic legal advice to companies and organizations of all sizes ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100 corporations in a variety of industries, including, hospitality, educational institutions, transportation, healthcare, real estate, and financial institutions. 

As a proud Spelman College alumna (c/o 02’), Ms. White received her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, summa cum laude, before continuing on to earn her Juris Doctorate from Vanderbilt University Law School in Nashville, Tennessee.


Terraine Bailey most recently served as the Executive Director of the Colorado Office of Respondents Parents Counsel where she was responsible for the oversight and management of court-appointed attorneys in juvenile cases, and developing practice guidelines, training and investigating grievances. Prior to joining the ORPC, Terraine was in private practice where she specialized in domestic relations, criminal and regulatory law. She brings over 15 years of experience investigating sex assault allegations, and advocating for both victims and defendants. 

Terraine is a graduate of Spelman College. She earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Ohio Northern University. Prior to relocating to Atlanta, Terraine was an active member of the Colorado legal community. She is the immediate past president of Colorado's Black Bar Association, and was appointed to the Executive Board of the Office of the Child's Representative and Child Protection Ombudsmen's Advisory Council. Committed to leadership and equitable process, Terraine has served on the Colorado Bar Association President's Diversity Council, Minority Over-Representation Committee and moderated social justice panels. She has also developed and presented diversity, implicit bias and access to justice trainings for the courts and legal professionals. 

Here in Georgia, Terraine has just joined the board of All Grown up, Inc., a character development and financial literacy program for teenage girls. 


Ethics and ComplianceA native of St. Louis, MO. Katari A. Key joined Morehouse College in March 2016 and serves as Associate Athletic Director for Compliance.

Previously Key spent 2 years at Seton Hill University (SHU) where she was Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Senior Woman Administrator. She also was the advisor for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). During her time at SHU she led SAAC to raising over $10,000 for Make-A-Wish. No stranger to Atlanta,

No stranger to Atlanta, GA and the AUC. She spent 6 years at Clark Atlanta University where she served in dual capacities. She was the Compliance Assistant for all varsity sports as well as Assistant Cross Country/ Track & Field coach. She coached the Cross Country team to 2 conference titles. In 2005, she earned a Liberal Arts Degree from Lincoln University (Jefferson City, MO) where she was a member of 3 NCAA Division II National Championship in Track & Field. In 2010, Katari graduated from Georgia State University with a Master’s in Sports Administration. Currently, she serves on the NCAA D2 Culture of Compliance Think Tank, the Regional Advisory Committee for Tennis. Heather Tate, a proud Pittsburgh, PA native, earned an Associates Degree in Business Management. After years in the Banking Industry – working as a Project Manager, Administrative Assistant, Office Manager – she went on to pursue a second career with a non-profit organization who helps runaway kids as an Executive Assistant to the President/CEO and realized the position was an excellent fit and decided to continue working in the position but in a warmer climate, so she moved her family to Atlanta, GA.

Heather is passionate about working with students/youth and loves to support and help whoever is in need and is excited about working here at Morehouse College in the President’s Office full time as the Executive Assistant to the Interim General Counsel/Chief Compliance Officer.
