Morehouse to Host 16th Annual “A King Celebration” Concert With The Atlanta Symphony
The musical tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a 1948 Morehouse graduate, commemorates the life and work of the celebrated civil rights leader. This year’s concert continues the valued collaboration with the Morehouse and Spelman glee clubs, lead by guest conductor Chelsea Tipton, II. Andrew Young well narrate American composer Aaron Copland's "Lincoln Portrait," and several members of Dr. King’s inner circle will share their memories of King’s mission and great spirit.
Concert tickets are priced at $25 (or buy one get one free, thanks to Target) and $10 for student tickets with a valid student ID (or buy one get one free, thanks to Target) and are available for purchase at the Woodruff Arts Center Box Office located at 15th and Peachtree streets – in advance and until 3 p.m. the day of the concert. They can also be charged to major credit cards by calling 404-733-5000 or by visiting the ASO website at www.atlantasymphony.org.
Tickets may also be purchased at the King Chapel starting at 6:30 p.m. the day of the concert. All seats are general admission.
