Three's Company: Garrett, Knauss, Munnings join Morehouse Board of Trustees
Michael D. Garrett, president and CEO of Georgia Power, Donald R. Knauss, executive vice president of The Coca-Cola Company and president and chief operating officer of Coca-Cola North America, and Avery Munnings '86, a partner in the Atlanta office of Deloitte & Touche, have recently joined the Morehouse College Board of Trustees.
Garrett is a graduate of Georgia College, now known as Georgia College & State University, with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He also has attended the Oxford University Management Program. Garrett's other board appointments include the United States Chamber of Commerce and United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta.
Knauss is a graduate of Indiana University with a bachelor's degree in history and served as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. He also serves on the boards of Camp Coca-Cola and the U.S. Marine Corps University Foundation.
Munnings earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Morehouse, where he was valedictorian of his class. He currently serves on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta and on the finance committee of Central United Methodist Ministries UMC.
Currently, there are 41 trustees and three trustee emeriti.
