  Alumnus premieres play in Atlanta

On Saturday, May 14, 2005, the art of one-man performance will be transformed with the debut of "Any1Man," an original theatrical production presented by the multimedia firm Privileged Inc.

Starring Alumnus George A. Peters, II ''02 (Twentieth Century Fox's "Drumline" and Black Family Channel's "Souled Out"), the play brings to life the internal conflicts experienced by five uniquely different men, each of whom are consumed by their dreams, yet distracted by their lives. Written and produced by alumni of Morehouse and Spelman Colleges, the play dissects mainstream society''s definitions of masculinity.

"While social scientists the world over theorize about the meaning and existence of manhood, it should always be remembered that manhood as a social construct is just that, a construct," says Brandon Fontenot Johnson, a managing partner of TheSpidersQuill.com online literary magazine.

"It is indeed a great pleasure to be in support of and to be a fan of this great performance," said Dwayne Crawford, chief operating officer of 100 Black Men of America, Inc. "It is one of the rare opportunities for the public to see and hear the multiple faces of men of African decent."
