Senior Week Step-by-Step

Monday, May 15 - Friday, May 19

Step 1.
The 2017 Graduation Clearance List will be posted on the outside wall of the Office of Records and Registration, located on the first floor of Gloster Hall, Room 106.  The list will be posted during Senior Week, May 15 thru May 19. Please be advised that the List is updated daily. Once you see your name on the List you are to proceed to Step 2.
 
Step 2.
Pick up your cap, tassel, gown and hood (academic honor cords, if earned) at the Morehouse College Bookstore.  If you have earned departmental honors, you are to pick them up at the respective academic department. While at the bookstore, make sure you pick up and fill out your graduation photo card. You will be required to present your Morehouse College Identification Card to the bookstore manager in order to pick up these items.
 
Step 3.
On Friday, May 19, starting at 9 a.m., bring your cap, tassel, gown, hood, and honor cords (if earned) along with your filled out graduation photo card to the King Chapel Plaza. 
 
Step 4.
Present your graduation photo card to the graduation facilitator to have your graduation photo taken.
 
Step 5.
Go to King Chapel lobby and show your Morehouse identification card to an assigned graduation facilitator for diploma mailing and ticket distribution. 
 
Step 6.
Confirm the address where you intend for your Morehouse diploma to be mailed to by signing your name next to the address.
 
Step 7.
You will receive Ten (10) green graduation tickets on Friday evening, May 19. If you need tickets for a person (s) with disabilities and a person who will accommodate such person (s), you will receive blue graduation ticket (s) for them.  In this case, you will trade in a green ticket (s) for the blue ticket (s) that is needed. 
 
Step 8. 
At noon, proceed to the Morehouse Football Stadium for the class picture. 
 
Step 9.
Following the class picture, proceed to King Chapel for Baccalaureate and Commencement rehearsal. 
 
Step 10
After rehearsal, remain in King Chapel for the Morehouse College National Alumni Association Rite of Passage. This inspirational ceremony will begin at 3:30 p.m. Parents and family members are encouraged to attend.           

Saturday, May 20

John Hope/ Benjamin Mays Alumni Senior Class Memorial Services and Baccalaureate Service 
Step 11.
Report to the John Hope gravesite at 12:45 p.m. for participation in a John Hope/ Benjamin Mays Alumni Senior Class Memorial Service promptly at 1:30 p.m.  Wear your graduation gown and cap with tassel.
 
Step 12.
At 2:30 p.m. the Senior Class will gather near the Mays site to proceed down Brown Street and enter King Chapel for the 3:00 p.m. Baccalaureate service. 

Sunday, May 21

133rd Morehouse College Commencement 
Step 13.
On Sunday, May 21, meet at 5:30 a.m. in King Chapel for Commencement preparation wearing your graduation gown, hood, cap with tassel, and honor cords (if earned).  Under your graduation regalia, you are required to dress professionally.
