The Administrative Core provides the intellectual and administrative framework that drives the research and training, and provides the coordination needed to run these diverse projects. The Administrative Core organizes the integrated management of pilot projects, monitors and evaluates their progress, facilitates the production of manuscripts, supports new investigators, and involves undergraduate students and early career scientists in the work of eliminating health disparities.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
- Create supportive research environment including enhanced grants administration
- Enhance research training and opportunities to compete for independent research funding in health disparities, life sciences, social and behavioral sciences, and health related areas
- Enhance research related skills including grant and paper writing
- Enhance research programs with an emphasis on health disparities, life sciences, behavioral sciences, and health related areas including sociology
- Provide innovative instruction and research training
- Build and expand academic degree programs with emphasis on public health as a minor
