Turning the Tassel Conference
Turning the Tassel, a national symposium on black male recruitment, retention and careers in education, will take place at Morehouse College’s Maynard Jackson Leadership Center this fall, Wednesday-Friday, Oct. 11-13. Sponsored by the Morehouse Research Institute, the symposium will feature expert K-12 and postsecondary practitioners as well as leading recruiters of Black male teachers. In addition to showcasing successful programs from around the country that are already improving educational outcomes for black males, the discussants will exchange ideas about the best and worst practices for educating black male students and cultivating black male teachers. The final day of discussion will focus on collaboration and dissemination strategies toward the ultimate goal of pollinating success.
