Public Influences of African-American Churches Project
The project examined the impact of African-American churches on important public issues and debates within American society over the last 30 years. It was designed to facilitate research and dialogue about the impact of African-American churches on public policy and public discourse. The project also provided scholars, teachers, church leaders, public officials and community activists with research for publications, instruction and deliberations related to public policy and the church's evolving role in American society. The project was supported by a grant from The Pew Charitable Trusts.
