Andrew Young Center for International Affairs

Mission, Vision & History

The AYC provides overall leadership to the College's international education objectives and assists in creating an institutional culture of internationalism. Central to its mission is the globalization of the College's academic programs, curricula and activities, and the preparation of students for service in the global community. The vision is to help students to realize their leadership potential with the full understanding of this country's role in global affairs and national civic improvements.

Established as the Center for International Studies in 1993, the AYC assumed its current name in 1998 to honor the life and legacy of Ambassador Andrew Young. The Center is committed to creating new knowledge and innovative pedagogy in international affairs, public policy and social justice.

By using Ambassador Young as a model, AYC programs demonstrate to the Morehouse community and its other constituents that ordinary people can accomplish extraordinary things through service and that African-American men are not limited by our history or any perceived place in society.
