Centers and Institutes

The Centers & Institutes at Morehouse College

The Morehouse College centers and institutes support and enhance classroom instruction while also contributing in areas such as research, student development and public service. The work being conducted at these centers and institutes touches the lives of people in the Morehouse community and throughout the world.

Andrew Young Center for Global Leadership

The Andrew Young Center for Global Leadership, established in 1995 with a generous grant from The Coca-Cola Foundation, was created to reflect the ideal of the Beloved Community embraced by former Morehouse College President Benjamin E. Mays, Howard Thurman, Martin Luther King Jr. and other distinguished Morehouse alumni.

Public Health Sciences Institute

Since its establishment in 1988, PHSI has had a large impact on students, especially those in the AUC. The number of AUC students attending graduate school in public health has tripled during the last ten years.

Morehouse Research Institute

The Morehouse Research Institute (MRI) is a self-supporting research and service unit at Morehouse College. Established in 1990, the MRI is a national clearinghouse of information about the more than 18 million African-American males in the United States. Our major thrust is research, publications and symposia to address the dearth of scholarship on issues affecting African-American men.
