International Student Services and Study Abroad Program

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

We are pleased that you have made Morehouse your college of choice, and welcome you to the Morehouse family. The Office of International Student Services serves as a primary resource for international students. The OISS assists students in making the transition to the United States and to Morehouse College, as well as providing services and other programming that meet the special needs of international students.

Each semester a special orientation session is held by the OISSAP for new international students, providing information on maintenance of SEVIS status, employment, travel, taxes, and other immigration issues.

International students are encouraged to visit the international office to keep abreast of important college and immigration information. International students are also encouraged to join the International Student Organization, which supports social activities for international students.

Information on maintenance of your immigration status is contained on this section of the web page. Please be sure to check with the international student advisor before beginning employment or enrolling in less than twelve hours per semester. The international student advisor (Mr. Harry Wright) is located in the Kilgore Student Center, Suite #200. You may reach him by email at harry.wright@morehouse.edu or by telephone at 404.215.2672.

Dean Wright is the Primary Designated School Official (PSDO) at Morehouse. Other Designated School Officials (DSOs) include: Maisha Gunter, located in Archer Hall (404) 572-3641 and Maurice Washington (404) 653-7857, located in Mays Hall first floor.
