NEXploration
- Kilgore Hall
Who am I? Where do I belong? What
am I doing? These are questions that second-year
students ask themselves. The second year experience
contains opportunities for exploration. The NEXploration program
seeks to foster self-investigation through a multitude
of programming initiatives around the needs of today’s
Men of Morehouse. This learning community will emphasize:
- establishing relationships with other second-year
peers, as well as faculty and staff
- empowering students to improve Morehouse
College and make a difference utilizing their
passions
- continuing the academic and social integration
into Morehouse College, while increasing retention
- developing and exploring academic opportunities
and goals at Morehouse and beyond
- enhancing students personal development and
growth while guiding students positively through
their second year.

BOSS
- Mays Hall
Today’s changing financial market, has presented
unparalled challenges for the modern-day businessman.
With the diminished resence of Black men in corporate
and private founding positions, it is imperative
to groom new leaders. Opportunities for growth through
entrepreneurship, networking and skills development
well foster for the development and execution of
an effective and self-sustained community. This learning
community will emphasize:
- connecting academic work across disciplines
with career aspirations
- providing an avenue for building an entrepreneurial
student network
- fostering growth for student business ventures
through programming, shadowing and career interest
seminars
- increasing business acumen through etiquette
training.

Signifying
- Perdue Hall
The Signifying learning community fosters the collective inspiration
of Black artists between mediums and disciplines to build on cultural intersections.
Despite varying experiences, expressions and skills, we are all artists and this
is Signifying. This learning community will emphasize:
- providing a residential hub for the exploration
of the creative arts
- offering students from various majors the opportunity
to connect their career pursuits with a study
in the creative arts
- exploring different ways to use creative arts
to promote social change and personal development
- encouraging residents to explore different
mediums of the creative arts.

iSTEM
- Brazeal Hall
As
we approach the dawn of a new decade, Black presence
in the areas of science and technology has never
been more mission critical. iSTEM is a
unique learning community that will emphasize:
- exploring medical sciences, cutting edge engineering,
new media and internet technology;
- increasing retention amongst students with
majors in the Division of
- science & Mathematics
- providing students with a natural residential
cohort to pursue career aspirations
- developing and displaying of cohesiveness among
all science and technology disciplines
- providing co-curricular activities to further
explore classroom topics and their real-world
applications

W.E.B.
DuBois International House
Here
at the International House one can engage
in first-hand accounts of globalization. The W.E.B.
DuBois International House is a unique learning
community that brings together students of international
backgrounds in an atmosphere that promotes mutual
respect, leadership development, multicultural
learning and global awareness through:
- establishing a supportive community for international
students while providing a variety of cultural
activities for learning about the United States
and countries around the world;
- initiating and sustaining collaborations between
the student scholars of
- International House and organizations
within the Morehouse community; and
- facilitating educational exchanges between
International and U. S. students while promoting
participation in Morehouse study abroad programs.

Soul
House - Hubert Hall
The Soul House, a place where the “Renaissance
Man” can develop his mind, body and soul. This
community is also the residential hub for the “Free
Zone” program, which seeks to curtail the use
of expletives and inappropriate attire. This learning
community will emphasize:
- exposing students to a diverse spectrum of
religions and philosophies;
- engaging students in exercises, that provide
guidance for ethical living;
- providing service-learning opportunities fostering
advocacy and dedication to social change

REBEL
- LLC
In
the age of the Renaissance, producing leaders
raising a boy to a man with a social conscience
and heightened level of responsibility is essential
for lifting our community to new heights. At
a time when the plight of the black male is so
devastating, the age of the R.E.B.E.L. is
at hand. This learning community will emphasize:
- increasing student retention through academic
support
- providing opportunities for students to meet
and network with faculty, staff and other stakeholders
- establishing accountability and responsibility
by raising expectations
- promoting career exploration and planning for
the success of R.E.B.E.L. students

The
White Hall Center for Social Change & Empowerment“
Injustice
anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere” – Dr.
Martin Luther King, Jr. ‘48.
The cultivation of social change agents has always
held a significant place in the Black community,
especially at Morehouse College. The future is
now and we must develop young men to be the next
leaders of the 21st century who will continue the
fight for equality and social justice worldwide.
This learning community will emphasize:
- promoting cultural awareness and social activism
- providing educational and developmental opportunities
that explore all areas of diversity
- exploring social justice issues across the
globe
- encouraging students to become social change
agents
