Off-campus Housing
MISSION
The mission of the Office of Off-Campus Student Services is to provide a comprehensive program to the commuting student in an effort to enhance their collegiate years at Morehouse College. The overall goal is to implement ideas and establish services that cater to the needs of the off-campus student, which will integrate those students in the life of the College beyond the classroom.
Additionally, the office attempts to develop systems of communication that will keep the off-campus student informed as well as involved in the on-campus experience. Ultimately, in the effort of the College to improve upon its commitment to the student, the Office of Off-Campus Student Services seeks to assess and address the concerns and issues of the commuter student as it relates to his housing, academics, social interactions, employment, life responsibilities and other facets of his experiences while a student at Morehouse College.
GOALS
The goals of the Office of Off-Campus Student Services mirror those of the College. Any program or initiative of this office is geared toward advancement of the College’s Mission Statement and Purpose. The planned programs will be focused on:
Enriching the educational and cultural growth of the commuter student;
Encouraging moral and ethical behavior in an environment
of civility and
cooperative interaction;
Providing quality levels of service grounded in excellence.
OBJECTIVES
To achieve the desired goals, the Office of Off-Campus Student Services will be responsible for, but not limited to, implementing or maintaining these efforts with emphasis directed toward the commuting student population of the College:
To assist in the retention of students;
To promote the enrichment of educational and cultural
growth;
To encourage civility, moral and ethical behavior and
cooperative living;
To provide quality and excellence in levels of service.
