New Biochemistry Lab Named for Keck Foundation

The portal to the new biochemistry teaching laboratory looks like the entrance to any other room on the third floor of Merrill Hall. But its nondescript door belies the goldmine of hi-tech equipment inside: a centrifuge for separating different substances; machines that purify water and sense acidity levels; microscopes; a refrigerator for storing solutions and experiments; and other instruments of various sizes, shapes and uses.
 
Leadership Center facility maintenance endowment receives local corporate support
Although widely known as the Leadership Center facility, the stately new building that graces the entrance of the Morehouse campus will have a new name once a $4-million maintenance endowment initiative has been achieved.

After rain delays in the early stages of construction, an aggressive recovery schedule has recaptured 30 to 40 percent of the delay in the construction of the new Leadership Center at the corner of Westview Drive and West End Avenue.

Oprah Winfrey shared a piece of her heart and a hefty piece of her checkbook with Morehouse College during the 137th Founder's Week. Winfrey was awarded the first ever Candle for Lifetime Achievement in Humanitarian Service Award on Saturday, February 21, 2004, at the 16th annual "A Candle in the Dark" Gala.
 
Ray Charles Tribute Pays Homage to a Great Musician

Ray Charles was a maestro of the duet. He married sacred and secular music to create the "soul" genre. For some, it was the musical equivalent of miscegenation. To countless others, it was a match made in heaven. Ray also mingled soul with the twangs of country-western, and even combined his emollient vocals with the music of a full orchestra to effectively turn a state song into a classic that doesn't fall neatly into any one category.
 
Morehouse Top College for Black Students…Again
