January 10, 2009 – CLEMSON, SC – The Morehouse Flying Tigers started the 2008-09 indoor track and field season at the Clemson University Invitational.
In the 500-meter dash, Tony Reynolds, Matt Tuffuor and Bryan Ray finished in the 17, 18 and 21 spots, respectively.
Reynolds, a sophomore biology major from Jacksonville, FL, ran a 1:11.14. Tuffuor, a junior business administration major from Cleveland, OH, ran a 1:11.44. Ray, a sophomore kinesiology major from Jacksonville, FL, clocked in at 1:15.29.
Ian DeRizzio and Brennen Buckner ran in the 400-meter dash, grabbing the numbers 15 and 18 spots, respectively.
DeRizzio, a junior biology major from St. Mary, Jamaica, clocked in at 51.31 and Buckner, a sophomore political science major from Stone Mountain, GA, finished the race in 52.94.
Khiry Lee, a sophomore political science major from Houston, TX, captured eleventh place in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:02.59.
The Morehouse 4x400-meter relay team of Ian DeRizzio, Edward Hull, Kevin Minott and Hasaan Rasheed crossed the finish line in ninth place, in a time of 3:29.36.
Turner Coggins heaved the shot put 13.53 meters. The junior business administration major from LaPlata, MD grabbed eighth place in his event.
