May 23, 2008 – WALNUT, CA – Morehouse speedster Damian Prince qualified for the finals of the 400-meter intermediate hurdles at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships, being held at Mt. San Antonio College, today through Saturday.
Running in the first of three qualifying heats, Prince completed his specialty event in a blistering time of 50.81. His time was second overall, just slightly behind Sean Bergstedt, of Truman State, who ran a 50.62 in the third heat.
Prince, a junior from Decatur’s Southwest Dekalb High School, edged out Bergstedt to win the national championship last year in this event.
Morehouse’s Barry Batson and Hasaan Rasheed are also looking to advance to the national finals in the long jump and triple jump events.
