May 21, 2007 -- METAIRIE, LA -- For the second consecutive year, Morehouse track and field head coach Willie H. Hill had been named South Region Coach of the Year, by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Every year coaches in the nation’s eight geographic regions vote to decide which coach among them has achieved the most successful outdoor track and field program.
Coach Hill led his team to an outstanding outdoor season, including a runaway victory in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship, held last month in Tuscaloosa, AL.
Hill will take eight members of the Morehouse team to the NCAA Division II track and field championships, to be held this weekend in Charlotte. Last year, Morehouse finished in 10th place in the national event and Keith Moffatt won the national high jump event.
