April 12, 2006 – TUSCALOOSA, AL – Capturing 11 of 19 positions on the first team and four of 19 positions on the second team, the Flying Maroon Tigers dominated the 2006 All-SIAC Track & Field team announced today.

Based on Season Best performances in track and field events, the honors list was released by Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference officials at the Spring Sports Championships banquet hosted by Stillman College this weekend.

Many season-best performances qualified members of the track and field team for the upcoming NCAA Division II national championships that will be held May 25-27, in Emporia, KS. Currently, about 15 Maroon Tigers have qualified to compete in that event.

All-round athlete Randall Flimmons led the way for the Maroon Tigers on the All-Conference team, with season-best performances in the decathlon, long jump and javelin throw.

Sophomore speedster Damian Prince recorded top times in the 400-meter dash and the 400 meters intermediate hurdles.

Stongman Billy Wooten piled up points for Morehouse with a season best in the hammer throw and a second best in the discus competition.
