April 14, 2004 - The Morehouse baseball, tennis and track and field teams will challenge the conference's best, when the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association stages the 2004 Spring Sports Championships this week in Columbia, SC.

The events, which are free and open to the public, will be held on the campus of Benedict College and at surrounding venues.

Last year the tennis and track and field teams finished a close second in the conference finals. After losing four key players from last year’s team, the tennis team is in a rebuilding mode. Winners of nine of the last 10 titles, the track and field team is ready to take on all comers and compete for conference supremacy.

Baseball was not a full fledged sport at Morehouse last year, but played a full conference schedule this season. With impressive wins over several strong opponents, the young Maroon Tigers are ready to make their mark on the baseball diamond and earn the respect of their peers.
