December 1, 2009 -- Morehouse linebacker Charlie Wilson has been voted to the second team of the Daktronic All-Super Region II football team, selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)
The selection affirms Wilson as one of the 22 best defenders in the Southeast.
Wilson, a 5’10” 205-pound sophomore from Montgomery, AL, was a spiritual and statistical leader among the Maroon Tigers. He led Morehouse in tackles (76), sacks (7), interceptions (4) and tackles for loss (18).
Wilson topped all Morehouse defenders in scoring, with three touchdowns. He returned two interceptions for touchdowns and recovered a fumble for a third. All of his touchdowns were game-changers, involving either a lead change or a momentum shift.
Twice named the SIAC Defensive Player of the Week, Wilson ranked eighth among SIAC defenders, in total tackles and second in tackles for loss. His prowess led him to be named to the First Team All-SIAC.
