November 3, 2008 – ATLANTA – For the twelfth time in his career and the sixth time this year, placekicker Micah Streiff was named the SIAC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Streiff is a senior from Decatur, GA who transferred to Morehouse last year from Tennessee State. He has been named to the POW rolls more than any other player in the conference in the last two seasons.
Cited for his stellar kicking game against Stillman, on Saturday, Streiff impressed SIAC officials with seven punts for an average of 41.7 yards. His 38.5 yards-per-game punting average is second in the conference.
He also booted a 28-yard field goal and two extra points. He is second in the SIAC in Scoring by Kick, with 43 points, and first in PAT accuracy, with 95 percent.
Quarterback William Brack received Honorable Mention stats for his play in the 17-16 win over Stillman. The red-shirt sophomore transfer completed 16-of-32 passes for 181 yards and two touchdowns in his second start as a Maroon Tiger.
Linebacker Jeffrey Cargile also received an Honorable Mention vote for his defensive stats against the Tigers. Cargile, a senior from Cincinnati, registered 10 tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble and a pass breakup.
