September 24, 2005 – ATLANTA – The Maroon Tigers fell behind early and never recovered in a 31-22 loss to Kentucky State.
The visiting Thorobreds scored on their first two possessions and built a 31-9 halftime lead that they never relinquished, in handing the Maroon Tigers their third loss of the season. Kentucky State upped its record to 3-2.
Wide receiver Raymond Johnson caught two touchdown passes of 20 and 34 yards and running back Eddie Rowe rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a high-powered Kentucky State offense.

Freshman wide receiver Tyderick Williams had his best game as a Maroon Tiger, catching two passes for 26 yards and returning two kicks for 54 yards.
