September 19, 2009 – BISHOP, GA – On another rainy day in Georgia, Noble Swint paced Morehouse to a fourth-place finish at the University of Georgia Cross Country Invitational.
The host Bulldogs captured eight of the top nine spots, to win the 8K race, followed by North Avenue Trade School and Emory University.
Morehouse beat out North Georgia and Piedmont.
Swint, a senior from Detroit, slogged across the rain-soaked finish line in 16th place, in a time of 5:49.6.
Kenneth Skinner (6:04.9) took second for Morehouse and 23rd overall. Ian DeRizzio (6:23.1) was the second Maroon Tiger and 28th overall. Nolan Schnepf (6:29.5) snagged the fourth Morehouse spot and 30th overall; and Abraham Kiprotich (6:30.6), finished fifth for Morehouse and 31st overall. Jeremy Tinsley and David Lee ran, but didn’t figure into the scoring.
Morehouse will host the Morehouse Invitational, Saturday, at 8:30 a.m., at Perkerson Park. The event will include five SIAC schools, Tennessee State and Allen universities.
