November 3, 2007 – ATLANTA – Abraham Kiprotich paced the Maroon Tigers to a sixth-place finish in the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championship, in Huntsville, AL.
In a time of 32:16.8, Kiprotich finished third overall in the 10-kilometer race that featured 132 runners from more than 20 colleges and universities throughout the Southeast.
Because of his stellar performance in the Southeast Regional, Kiprotich will represent Morehouse and the SIAC at the NCAA National Cross Country Championship, to be held in Joplin, MO, November 17.
In order of finish, Dreyfus Clemons (27), Julius Hanks (42), Noble Swint (43), Dezmond Douglas (54), Courtney Morris (58) and Kenneth Skinner (95), completed the Morehouse team.
Morehouse was the only SIAC team to compete in the regional. Benedict College’s Emmanuel Kirwa finished first overall, though his full team was not represented.
