October 21, 2005 – ATLANTA – The Flying Maroon Tigers made it eleven in a row, with their victory in the SIAC cross country championship at Atlanta’s Mosley Park.

Capturing five of the top six spots, the Maroon Tigers were never challenged and gave the competition a healthy serving of dust from start to finish.

The Maroon Tigers also dominated in the academic arena, earning top honors as the All-SIAC Academic Team. Three Morehouse runners also topped the individual academic honors.

Head coach Willie Hill was voted Coach of the Year for the eleventh straight year.

Alex Brickler, a junior history major from Tallahassee, set the pace for the Maroon Tigers, with a winning time of 28:02.65 over the 5-mile course.

The Morehouse team is composed of Alex Brickler, Kevin Chase, Julius Coleman, Julius Hanks, Avery Himes and Douglas.

Fort Valley finished a distant second; Albany State finished third.

On the women’s side, Albany State finished first, followed by Clark Atlanta and Benedict.
