Boyd garnerned the POY honor, despite the Maroon Tigers’ disappointing 9-18 season record. He also earned the admiration of his coaches and teammates, and the respect of opposing players and coaches who voted for him.
Among the other awards handed out at the SIAC pre-tournament banquet, Morehouse sophomore Marcus Wedge was named to the SIAC All-Academic Team.
The 6’-3 guard from Landover, MD is a Marketing major and boasts a 3.7 gpa. Though he missed much of the season with a knee injury, Wedge is expected to fully recovery and be a major player next season.
