DRAGONS DOWN TIGERS

January 17, 2009 – JACKSON, TN – Still playing with a depleted lineup, Morehouse lost, 91-55, to the Lane College Dragons, to extend the losing streak to seven games.

The Maroon Tigers failed to gain any traction against the third best team in the SIAC, which improved its record to 9-3. The loss drops Morehouse to 3-8 (1-6 SIAC).

J.P. Felder led Morehouse in scoring with 15 points. The senior from Smyrna has been on a scoring and rebounding barrage, lately. He has led the team in scoring five times and in rebounding four times, this season. Felder added four rebounds and three assists

After a sluggish couple of recent games, Jelani Figures got back in the double-digit scoring column, with 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting.

Reggie Williams continues to make his presence felt. The 6’-6” freshman from Atlanta hit 5-of-10 shots, for 10 points, and pulled down five rebounds.

Joshiah Anabraba led all players in rebounding with eight boards.

Four Dragons scored in double figures, paced by Rodney Chatman, who score 19, most of them on three-pointers.

The Maroon Tigers return home, Tuesday, at 7:30 p.m., to face the Paine College Lions. Morehouse lost to Paine 78-69.
