November 3, 2008 – Morehouse center Kenney Boyd has been named to the preseason Division II South Region All-America team as an Honorable Mention selection.

The distinction was issued by the Sporting News Street and Smith’s basketball magazine.

Boyd, a 6’-8” 280-pound senior from Meridian, MS, led Morehouse in scoring (15.9 ppg), rebounds (10.1 rpg) and average minutes played (31.7) last season.

In the conference last season, Boyd was second in rebounding and fourth in scoring and was voted to the post-season All-SIAC team. He was also named to the SIAC Preseason All Conference 1st Team.

Boyd was the only SIAC player selected for distinction by the prestigious magazine.
