January 22, 2008 – AUGUSTA, GA – The road woes continue for the Maroon Tigers who lost 74-62 at Paine. The loss was the fourth in five games away from the friendly confines of Forbes Arena where the Maroon Tigers are a perfect 8-0.
Except for an early 5-4 lead, Morehouse was never in the game. Scoring a season-low 16 points in the first half, the Maroon Tigers trailed most of the second half by double digits.
Poor free-throw shooting (11-of-22) and turnovers (22) contributed heavily to the Morehouse downfall.
Three Maroon Tigers scored in double figures, led by J.P. Felder, who had a game-high 16 points, to go with nine rebounds and four blocks.
Jason Reese added 13 points and four rebounds before fouling out with three minutes left in the game.
Kenney Boyd contributed 10 points and nine rebounds.
Brenden Stoner, who has started every game this season, went scoreless for the second straight game. The senior shooting guard played only 13 minutes and took two shots.
Paul Williams took up the playing-time slack at shooting guard and scored seven points. Point guard Travis Floyd chipped in eight points and two rebounds.
Julian English led the way for the Lions with 15 points, followed by Marcus McDaniel, with 13 points, and Joshua Adams, with 11 points.
Three of the road losses have been against teams with overall losing records.
The Maroon Tigers 9-5 (6-4 SIAC) will visit Tuscaloosa, AL to face the 0-12 Tigers of Stillman College, Thursday, at 7:30 p.m. (CST). In their last meeting, Morehouse defeated Stillman 75-69, at Forbes Arena.
