January 6, 2007 – COLUMBIA, SC – The Maroon Tigers lost to the Benedict College Tigers 81-69.
Morehouse led at halftime 39-35, but were outscored 47-30 in the second half.
Jason Patterson and William Belton scored 13 points each, to share team-high scoring honors for Morehouse. Center James Beasley chipped in 12 points and hauled in six rebounds.
Patterson, who has seen limited action this season, played only in the second half. He hit 5-of-8 shots from the field, 3-of-4 from the free-throw line, and grabbed three rebounds in nine minutes of play.
Forward Kwame Agbottah led all players with 11 rebounds and threw in nine points.
Four Benedict Tigers scored 13 points each and another scored 10, to push their record to 5-0 SIAC (7-1 overall).
The Maroon Tigers fell to 2-5 (2-3 SIAC) and will play Paine College, on Monday, in Augusta.
